Image information
The Journey begins 37 miles away at the source, Lake Erie.
3,160 tons of water flows over the Niagara Falls waterfalls every second. After the water meets its climax at Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls, it crashes approximately 167 ft downwards where its swirls around for a while, until it sorts itself out and continues a slightly calmer journey onwards, to its final destination, Lake Ontario.
Separated by to great countries, Canada and the United States, this body of water that creates the Niagara River can been seen from either side, passing under the famous Rainbow bridge and Whirlpool Bridge. This shot was taken from the American side, in-between both these two bridges.
If you plan to visit the Falls don’t put all your eggs in one basket with the Canadian side, make time to see the American side, walk around Goat and Luna Island. From a photographical point of view Autumn (for me) was the best time to visit. The leaves turn and burn, reds, oranges, yellows, a colourful foliage mishmash of colours are bursting everywhere.
