The Dubai markets or Souk are an amazing hustle and bustle of Emiratis life, selling spices, gold, carpets,  and great fake football tops, anything!

Dubai Creek is close by and offers local water taxies up and down the river, an absolute must, the warm air and the smell of engine oil fused with diesel waft from the boat as plod along, and is a true delight on the nostrils. The Souk itself located in Deira, is an old Market place that consists of over 380 retailers who’s biggest trade is  Gold, Platinum, Diamonds and sometimes yet not so common, silver. The market place also boarders with the Dubai Fish and Vegetable Market.

If you’re planning to travel to Dubai see this place while you can, in its genuine raw environment, as the Dubai government have plans to turn it into a major tourist attraction. However, it is fun to walk through the little maze of it all, the locals are super friendly, cant do enough for you, will invite you in, make you feel at home, want to talk..so soak it up because its awesome!
